Chimamanda Adichie receives Honorary Degree Award in Edinburgh University, Scotland

Top Nigerian author and short story writer Chimamanda  Adichie Ngozi has been honored by Edinburgh University, Scotland with an honorary degree.

She received the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Letters at the University’s recently redeveloped St Cecilia’s Hall – Scotland’s oldest concert hall.

The award was presented to her by the University’s Principal and Vice Chancellor, Professor Sir Timothy O’Shea.

Receiving the honorary degree in recognition of her achievements as an author and public intellectual, she said:

"It is lovely to be in this place, which is hallowed. I feel very fortunate to be included among the people who have been honored with a degree from this University."
